As a musician and songwriter, Chester Bennington was at the forefront of the nu metal movement. As a teenager, Bennington began abusing alcohol, marijuana, opium, cocaine, methamphetamine and LSD, and at the age of 17 he moved in with his mother. When his mother found out he was using drugs, he was banned from the house for a while. The officer also wrote that there was a less than half-full glass of Corona and an empty bottle of Stella Artois. A diary with a handwritten but undated biography was also present. There was no suicide note. After his death, his wife Talinda Bennington launched the 320 Changes Direction campaign in her husband’s honor to help break the stigma surrounding mental health.
